How much gas price variation do you typically see where you are? It's wild here in Vancouver, WA. 50 cent price difference between the lowest and highest in the city. As much as a 40 cent difference between 2 gas stations across the street from each other. Not just that one station has already posted the next day's prices. It's consistent.
Very odd compared to what I was used to in Ohio where they were all within a few cents of each other.

Our best price is Costco, a bit outside the city (Sammamish) in Issaquah at $2.23. We have only 4 stations, they are at $2.43, $2.43, $2.59 and $2.69, so the difference is 26 cents.

I'm surprised to see prices about $1 more than in my area.
When gas was at 3 to 4 a gallon there was typically one area of the city where it was 30 cents cheaper. Or one place where two or three stations were having a price war. Which meant if I fill up there it would save me 3,4 maybe 5 dollars in my Ford Focus, 8-10 bucks for my wifes SUV. Well worth it if it was nearby or like 10 miles out of my way, otherwise not worth it. I checked Gasbuddy about every day back then.
With gas at 2 or under its not a big deal though. Typically the lowest price in town is only 10 cents a gallon less than the others, around a buck saved per tank which is not worth bothering with.
Had a bud email me a pic of his gas receipt yesterday and the ticket said the price was 92.9 cents a gallon. It was an Exxon station just north of town. Otherwise, the prices run from $1.49 to $1.69. By the house it's $1.55 for regular with premium at $2.17. Diesel is at $2.34. I personally think we are headed for gas below a buck unless the "clowns that be" start with the raising taxes on it.
It's generally about 20 cents.. But.. There's exceptions. We have one station that only sells ethanol free gas.. So, it's generally about 40 cents higher than the lowest priced 'regular' station.
The lowest price I've seen lately has been $1.49.. The most common price seems to be within 2 cents of $1.55
You'll usually see the stations right off the interstate with no close competition being upwards of $1.65.
Something that i'm actually curious about.. Kerosene is still really high.. $3.99/gal, which just dropped from $4.09.
I expect that to be higher, but not more than double the cost of gas and pretty much double the cost of diesel.
Honestly I have no idea because it does not matter if I need gasoline I pull into the station and purchase it. Mr. CSD plays the fuel price game and rarely wins and I continue to tell him it is a waste of time.
It's the big name gas stations like Chevron or Shell that are always much more expensive. I don't understand why people go to them when there are other options.
