In the interior pictures above I immediately noticed how the Honda was so much more spacious. Honda for years has been expert in roomy interiors for the car size. My tiny 88 CRX Si has more interior space then 3rd generation Cameos and their huge.
What's with you young guys acceptance of 4 door cars? All my life 4 door cars were the family sedan not a sporty type car and shunned by guys interested in performance cars.
I know my GSR isn't fast by todays standards but it sure is nice to drive and thats worth a lot. And I'm a lifetime V8 hot rodder. It sure sounds good floored and going through the gears.

I'm not sure what a Cameo is, but yeah, if there's one thing the Focus is maligned for, it's interior size. Fine with me, but I'm on the left side of the average height bell curve.

When manufacturers such as Subaru, Ford, VW, Mazda, etc, started making 4- (or, more often, 5-door) performance compacts that give us, young, mature guys the performance of a sports car and the utility of a family car without sacrificing much inbetween, we started buying them. And when anyone asks us "why do you accept (insert thing here)?", we generally tend to call that person narrow-minded. What are we supposed to do instead, picket and protest their existence?
Your GSR also came in a four-door, by the way.

I'm not sure what that means. "Nice to drive" is different things to different people. My Focus ST is a whole lot "nicer to drive" than your GSR by my (and most others' modern) standards, but, again, that's my opinion and has nothing to do with, among other things, the number of doors my car possesses.
Yeah, there have repeatedly been rumors of a hot version with a turbo that never come to fruition. I do admire that they put out a hybrid with a stick shift though.
I am a Honda fan so I'll throw this into the mix. A 2013 up Accord V6 coupe 6 speed 0 to 60 5.4 and 1/4 13.9 at 101. Motor Trend road test. Thats not bad at all and without the added complexities of a turbo.
I know you guys are talking about new cars but there was a thread here awhile ago where the Cobalt SS I think it was , the turbo one was called a best buy because of the most performance per dollar because I guess they depreciated more than some cars.
Yeah the v6 Accord, Camry, and even our RAV4 put a lot of sporty cars to shame...in the straights anyway.
