I'm going to leave the car in a garage for 2 weeks while I head off on a trip. Does it matter if the fuel tank is full or close to empty or should it be half-full during that time period? How much gasoline should there be in a tank when you leave a car alone? Or it doesn't matter how much fuel will be in the tank?
If I leave a vehicle sitting for any length of time, I always fill up the tank right before I park it. For two weeks, I wouldn't sweat it this time of the year. In Alaska, in the winter, I would fill it due to condensation, even if it was only sitting two weeks. But only if it was outside or in an unheated garage. In a heated garage, so sweat.

I wouldn't worry about it for just two weeks but if you are going to store any gasoline for a longer length of time whether it's a lawnmower, gas can or your car it should be full. In addition to the condensation issue already mentioned the air will also react with gasoline.

Two weeks? I leave my car sitting in a airport parking lot for a few months with around a half tank of gas. When I fly back in, I stop and fill it up and within a week get a oil change. fwiw it's a Toyota/Lexus vehicle.
We always fill our tanks before we go on vacation.
Just a personal preference, with all the hassle of flying, delays and whatnot; we don't want an added gas station stop.
