There's such a weird influx because of the New Oil/Petroleum pipeline from Canada running through town. There is many sub contractors from different states. Pretty Cool to see all these different tags, Just gets weirder when you see more out of state tags at the gas station in the morning than you do Wisconsin tags.
Growing up in California, it was two…Nevada and Oregon.
In Texas, it got more diverse. Louisiana, Arkansas, and Oklahoma, since I was in the corner of the state near all three. Illinois, Georgia, and Missouri were the next most common.
Here in NY, I see so many Florida license plates. It’s hilarious. I actually like Florida, but it’s honestly the East coast’s cut-rate California. I see them more than my nearest neighboring states, PA and Ohio. Even watched a Bills vs Dolphins game in Miami…and half of the crowd were decked out in Bills jerseys.
In Chemnitz (eastern part of Germany) I see out of country license plates pretty often, mostly because the main east-west highway (A4) from Central Germany to Southern Poland and Ukraine passes just north of town.
Most common are Czech Republic and Poland, the two closest neighbors.
Next, Ukraine, mostly due to the influx of refugees. Wow, many drive nice cars and SUVs. Ukraine is 8 hours east on Autobahn A4 after passing through southern Poland.
Romania is pretty common. Lots of temporary workers, plus many come here in trucks to buy used cars and haul back to Romania.
Others I've seen, but not very often are Slovakia, Bulgaria, Russia, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, France, Spain, Netherlands, Slovenia, Croatia.
Furthest from home was Kazakhstan and Turkey.
