I have 3 kids and don't want to make someone suck it up and sit in a crappy middle seat. Do you have a vehicle you'd recommend for it's rear seat comfort? I DON"T want a big car anymore--I'm trading in a minivan as the bulk is just too much for me. I don't want a bukly suv or another mivivan!

Also tried the Ford Taurus, Fusion and Escape. The leather in the Escape made the middle seat not feel so bad--better than any Honda model.

Appreciate any recommendations!

From my experience...anything smaller than a full size sedan (Crown Vic, Caddy Deville), the middle seat always sucked for anything other than short trips.

Have you looked at the Ford Edge? It's a bit bigger than the current Escape - but it's much smaller than a Explorer. I like it a lot, and am seriously considering it when it's time to replace my 2010 Escape (I hate the new Escapes). I know it's an SUV, but it's definitely one of the smaller ones.

I don't think it exists.

For 3 kids I'd still recommend a mini-van or a Suburban.

2014-Current Chevy Impala.

I just purchased a 17 Impala LT with a V6, and so far it's been great, it has a ton of room inside, and you can get slightly used ones for a great deal, much cheaper than any used Camry or an Accord that's for sure, and to be honest this car is better than any of them. It has more room than any current Mid-Size sedan I test drove, and the quality, features, tech, and refinement of the car is shockingly good for being a Chevy.

It honestly feels like an upscale luxury car at times. If you get the Premiere model, then you are in full luxury mode.

Plus it rides so smooth and is very very quiet on the road.

Since you wish to avoid SUVs and minivans, you will need a full size sedan. If you want to go American, try Chevy Impala, Dodge Charger, Chrysler 300, Lincoln MKZ, Lincoln Continental, and Cadillac XTS. But you'd better hurry because there are rumors that the Chevy Impala and Cadillac XTS will disappear soon. If you want to go foreign, Toyota Avalon or any one of the big three German sedans from Mercedes, BMW, or Audi.
