Anything you were sceptical of or something that was part of an option package that you wanted and was simply an included feature rather than something you felt was needed?
I'm really liking the light on the bottom of the drivers door on my 4Runner (had no idea this was even a feature) that illuminates the ground when the door is open. EDIT- the light may be on the bottom of the mirror...I didn't really look closely bit I know there are lights on the bottom of the mirrors. Regardless, it is plenty bright enough to be useful.
So is there anything you are finding SURPRISINGLY useful on your vehicle that seemed irrelevant at time of purchase?
The map in navigation for when I’m driving backcountry gravel, off road trails. Air suspension for off roading, hill descent with being able to pick a mph wanted.
I really like the back up camera, lane change warning, and the radar cruise control on my 2017 Corolla. The emergency stop feature has not had to come on yet but I am glad to have it. I would never have ordered any of that had it not been standard. What I don't like is the electric windows. It is hard to find a car with roll down windows so I bought this one anyway.
Remote start is something I probably never would have explicitly opted for. But it was included in the trim I got and find myself using it pretty frequently.
I thought the electric rear liftgate was unnecessary but I really like being able to open the liftgage from a distance as I walk up to the car now that I have it.
My car is bare-bones by today's standards except for remote keyless entry. I don't find it so useful that I couldn't live without it versus a standard keyfob. There are some features I want on my next car I don't have now that I'll likely consider indispensable once I have them like fully adaptive cruise control and heated seats.
Adaptive cruise control. I can, and do, live without it as only one vehicle has it, but it's something nice that I appreciate for being there.
Of course, to get that we had to get a ton of other crap that's more annoyance and bound to be a maintenance nightmare in a decade. All because my wife had to have leather seats, which only come in the top trim...
