as above:
"Go look at the resale on most Hybrids and EVs, they aren't any better than an ICE vehicle and in many cases, they're actually worse."

GM and Volkswagen agree:

Electric definitely has a future, but for now it’s a niche product.

At mid-40s for fuel economy (I mildly hypermile), fuel costs aren’t a massive concern. And until the car can charge itself, driving 100 miles to work, leaving it for weeks, and driving 100 miles home sans a charger in the lot isn’t practical for how I use a car. On top of that...point me to a $2500 beater electric. ¡Mucho gasolina!

Wake me up when an ICE vehicle will let me fill up at home instead of wasting valuable time going to a stinky gas station.

LOL. Well Ford is just attached to VW. VW actually has some plans, I think they will do okay.

It will all happen slowly. Hybrids and high MPG ICE vehicles should retain their resale value longer.....BUT, my feeling is that this will happen slowly enough that most drivers won't be stuck with their used 18MPG SUV...the cars will "age out" instead as ride sharing and self-driving cars (some shared) start populating the roads.

And how is the Bolt doing these days?
What they mean is they’ll make an EV that globally sells about 15k a year to help offset the half million or so Silverado’s they actually make their money on. You ever think that maybe just perhaps there’s a very slight chance you don’t really have a pulse on the market?
