They’re all sunroofs now and they’re all glass. “Moon roof” must have been a brand name from some specific manufacturer.
Moon roof was general nomenclature. After market kits were glass, but there were a number of different brands. The vast majority of steel panels were factory.
My son had a glass after market roof that came loose and shattered on the ground. He was able to find a replacement glass.

I see the opposite. Most cars market the feature as "powered moonroof", even though I've not seen one that isn't powered these days. "Sunroof" is more typically used as part of "Panoramic sunroof". Which make me wonder if some manufactures consider sunroofs as non-movable.

I’ve never seen a car sold with a moonroof in my entire life. I’ve bought 7 cars in the past 10 years and I’ve seen nothing marketed as a moonroof. I think the term moonroof is extinct.
We had one of Buick Enclave’s first year models and it had a moon roof—that had only a black mesh screen — not solid moveable cover
Couldn’t take the heat coming through there
Had to use cardboard to block sun
Terrible design from someone who never drove w/moonroof I guess
Traded car in on a Tahoe which we had moved from...
You should have just had a window tint place tint over it
The Corvette is the only car I know that consistently is available as a targa. Porsche comes back out with them every now and then.
I would say Jeep Wrangler has a “targa top” as the driver section can be removed separately from the rest of the hard top. Back in the day 90s Supras used to offer a targa top. Olds had a convertible but never saw a targa top from the factory.

I think the Olds I had with a Targa top, was a custom job by a previous owner. They did a great job on it though, it looked factory and it didnt leak at all!
