My battery in my 2013 C6 Vette had to be replaced today. Noticed a weak crank the last two days and then no crank at all today. Then the DIC went crazy with service this and that and windows and hatch would not open. The C6 does not like a weak battery as things go crazy. So replaced it myself today with a new one.
I haven't had a 12v lasted less than 5 years. Even my Prius's is still running on a 6+ yr old Optima Yellow battery.
Lead Acid batteries are typically very robust unless you have a bad alternator and some kind of electronic gremlin that is using up the charge while not driving.
You should get one of the power maintainer from Noco to keep your battery charged.
A lot of it has to do with proper servicing of the battery/charging-system.
If you do not drive much, you need to regularly trickle-charge your battery, or do a higher-current conditioning-charge occasionally.........plate sulfation is one of the main ways a battery loses capacity.

Only lasted 2.5 years.
I am on the 3rd battery in a 2014 SUV. That is about one every 2 years.
Car battery life can decrease if it is operated or parked in a hot temperature location. The low elevation southwest deserts, southern TX or south FL are hard on car batteries due the length of the hot weather season, especially if the car is parked in the sun or in a garage that is hot as an oven. Most other places in the US have not much more than 3-4 months of heat, so likely not as severe.
Some people don't verify that the battery cables have a tight connection to the battery, and that will make a difference in battery life too. The battery doesn't get fully charged.
Some cars have auto-off when the car comes to a stop, then auto-start. Does that frequent use of the starter have an impact on battery life? Maybe so. My Honda Fit base model does not have auto-start-stop, thankfully.
Batteries last longer when their internal temperatures remain relatively cool (not to hot). I installed a NAPA battery of my 2010 RAV4 V6 in 2011, and the battery is still in good shape.

Is the battery located under the hood? I know that heat is really bad for a battery. I just put a new battery in my vehicle after 6 years, and the old battery was still good. My battery is located under the passenger seat, which keeps it much cooler than it would be if it were located under the hood.
2.5 years is a seems like a very short amount of time for a car battery.
