I never ridiculed Texas. An observation on their appalling grid and power generation, that shut down the state, is not ridicule.

We already have and use the most economical fuel types. Hydrogen would be a very good fuel, but its under development.

That is incorrect. A pickup truck is a multi-use vehicle. A dozer, for example, is not designed to transport people and goods. But you can use a pickup truck to transport people (family member, etc.) and goods, to tow a trailer, haul construction materials, as a war vehicle as done in the middle East and Africa, to sleep in the back inside a small camper or topper, and so on...

As I mentioned before, Texas is nearly twice as large as the UK, and its population is nearly half as large as yours. Such a landmass requires nearly twice as much distances for power distribution over land that is prone to hurricanes. It is not the same for you in the UK, since distances for power distribution are not an issue, and the weather is relatively stable.

And yes, Texas' leaders probably have been riding the "green technology wagon" instead of planning for the future.

Fare paying hydrogen fuel cell trains have been in fare paying use for a few years now.

With only 14 moving parts EVs are far more reliable.

You already posted a video about a hydrogen powered train in the UK that can reach 75 miles, or run for a period of 3 hours on hydrogen fuel.
