The charger info, the car doesn't need internet to work.

Good to know. I wondered if the car needed the internet to function. Seems like so much of the operating since of a Tesla needs the internet connection. I wonder if other electric cars are as dependent on the internet. My hybrid is not. But I have a hybrid with 2 engines so it doesn't plug in.

So you actually have to pay at the charger I did not know that I figured it was free I don't know why I thought that I just thought that.

Nobody wrote anything like that in this thread.

I think some Tesla owners of older models have lifetime free supercharging, but that's definitely not the case for most.

Only some cars are free, fewer and fewer now. The charge goes to an app on your phone, with whatever payment method you set up.

You do not pay at the charger on Tesla superchargers - you are billed to your account - the amount being charged is displayed in the car on the cars screen and on your phone as you charge.

Some do have free charging, my Model X has free charging for as long as I own it, my previous Model S had it for the life of the vehicle, my DW's Model 3 has 1000 miles of free charging and then you pay.

I’m on stop 2 on the way home. Still no issues and I don’t foresee any from this point on. I’m taking a different route to avoid the whole Richmond > DC > Baltimore corridor (and nearly $50 in tolls!)

SC electricity is cheap as hell btw, even at superchargers.

I will readily admit that this long of a trip is rough in this car. The self-driving helps a ton, but this many stops sucks. After this experience, coupled with my prior road trips, I’d say 4 stop trips are the sweet spot. That’s about 600 miles realistically. After that, the “breaks” are just slowing me down too much.

I don’t see anyone saying that either. Perhaps you can provide a link.
