Default animal names?

Why are there so many with animal names (Ford mustang, Mercury eagle, Dodge viper, Buick impala, etc)?

52 HP = VW tortoise 0-60 in under a minute if downhill. , it'll never happen on an uphill.

but... 1 mpg per hp... been getting 50 mpg since 1976, where you been?... that bumper sticker is not well received in "prius" country
