I had Sirius ever since it came out in early 2000s I consider it a blessing to not have commercials. Having lots of choices is also great.
What I don’t like is the sound quality which is very compressed. Some of my favorite stuff I usually stream from my phone using Tidal app.

After a while, I noticed I got into a patterns of listening to the same stations. This becomes annoying after a while. Anyhow, just a rant I guess.
Still XM over Fm or am anytime, no matter the cost. Never listen to a commercial, not in car, not at home.
Curious how others use Xmas or what interesting patterns people use.

What I find curious is that in the beginning the 'promise' was that there would be "NO COMMERCIALS". I listen to news stations often, and I find them loaded with commercials.

When I listen to music stations, I don't recall commercials.

I alternate between FM & XM depending on my mood. Have it on my phone to listen through my hearing aids. Bridge, Spa, Yacht Rock, comedy channels, news, and vintage radio shows are my usual go to when I listen. Most times in the car I have the radio off. If after a horrible day at work I’ll turn on The Spa or comedy channels to help decompress. If performing mundane task at work I’ll put on the vintage radio shows. For morning news I alternate between FOX and BBC depending on what’s going on in the world. Wish they had a news format similar to how the original CNN Headline News use to be. That would be nice for a morning commute catching up on the major stories in politics, nation, international, sports, and entertainment. If just driving, not commuting through heavy traffic, then 70s or 80s channels. Once arrived at home just as Radar Love started. Stayed in car blasting the speakers until the song finished. Next morning I was shocked at the speaker volume. I now turn down the stereo to 5 or 10 before turning of the car.

A dream stereo feature I want is one that will let me set the bass, treble, and midrange for each individual station. Change to a talk station and the settings are set for voice clarity. Change to a music channel and the setting changes for music enjoyment. Go further and add speaker fade and balance settings per channel. For talk stations, moving the volume to the front speakers (midrange and tweeter cones) makes it easier to understand.

Lately I got into a habit of just picking one channel for the day and keeping it on. Doesn’t always work. Default station is Roadhouse or Real jazz.
Then 80s or 1stwaive. Sometimes Phish if I can tolerate the recording of the concert. Classic rock stations.
Bluesville is also ok.

Radio classics is also fun sometimes, old radio shows
36 or 35 which is Modern Alternative stuff, kids can listen to it. Sometimes they ask for modern junk and I’ll put on Pulse for a bit till I can’t tolerate it.

Back in the day, on Sirius radio, you could favorite a song and anytime they played one of those songs it would Albert you and you can jump to it. I thought it was a neat feature.

Lithium, Faction Punk, and Tom Morello's Battle Hymns are the most played.

They've got plenty of commercials...for their own content advertising other channels and such. And sometimes the DJs or spotlight artists just drone on and on. All to reduce licensing costs and play less music I'm sure.
