You know the reflective material used in road signs and on the sides of police cars? Do they make a car paint that does the same thing? Imagine either the entire car or one strip down the length of the car with this reflective material. Cars at night would be more visable and hopefully reduce accidents.

You can get the reflector tapes and symbols at the auto store, as the other poster said. Of course this is why some cars, mainly European styles, have side lighting.
Pepboys sells reflector tape, they used to give 12" strips to children. You could always buy a roll from the JC Whitney catalog.

Never said I wanted a government law requiring them. Just figured that car customizers could hide within the paint some fabulous designs that can only be seen in the dark with a little light.
3M and other companies make consipuity (con spick cue ity) tape. That's the stuff you see surrounding the read end of truck trailers and running down the side of those trailers. This product came about because the "average" side impact into a trailer cost the trucking comanies over $45,000, and those numbers were from the early 1990s.
IMO learning how to be a VERY DEFENSIVE driver is a better idea, and won't make your ride look like more of a pos than it already does. lol.

Dave,I'm not sure if these guys have exactly what you are looking for but chances are they will IF anyone does.I've used their paint(candy) in the past and it is by far the best I've EVER used bar none.Bit pricey tho'.

Most of the really good reflective stuff is tape, but they do make paint that reflects at night, too. Just google it - and the tape, too. I recently bought a roll of 3" wide tape in blue on the net and will be applying it all along the door sill line of my van next week - if the weather holds.
Don't let the guys rib you. Commercial trucking firms are smart about money stuff, and making your wheels more conspicuous at night - on all four sides - could be cost effective and wise. "Idiots" driving around after dark sometimes need all the help you can give them to keep from putting you back on the bus, so a little tape might go a long way toward avoiding problems. One never knows.
The 3M stuff is really good. We were searching the desert one night for a car with a reflective decal on the door and while using a regular spotlight from a hilltop got a visual hit on it from well over a mile away - in the pitch black of night. It impressed us.
