1994 Honda Civic. The electrical system was a mess and they never could get it right.

89 Plymouth Reliant bought new: AC went at 25K, radio at 28K, always had an outside water leak from under the dash, oil leak at 40K, trans went at 90K. Thoroughly soured me on Chrysler.

I've never owned a bad car myself. But my parents had a Chevy Citation back in the 80's - horrible car.

Didn't we do this not long ago?

For me, no contest, 1980 VW Dasher Diesel, bought for $500 with an alleged rebuilt engine, had the crankshaft timing belt pully work loose, valves hit pistons (although just enough to mark them) had that fixed (don't buy a car you can't do most or all maintenance yourself)! Drove it awhile more, never beat it or anything (what would be the point, with 53 thundering HP?) eventually it threw a rod as I was cruising down the road to home, junked it after that.

While it did get 40-50 MPG on Diesel, it was too troublesome to make economic sense.

And while it wasn't fast, it sure was slow...

While you didn't ask, the 82 Scirocco (gas) that I daily drive anymore, bought for $1000, is probably the *best* car I have ever owned, in terms of being a lot of car for the money. And reasonably fun to drive.

'79 Ford Thunderbird. It stranded me so many times and I didn't even own it that long. A true POS.

Yeah we did...but to answer the question for me it was a 76 Olds Cutlass....and not because it was a GM was it bad...but because it had so many problems due to old age, lack of proper maintenance, etc.

I've gotta go with a 79 Olds Delta 88 DIESEL I owned.

Those who know about them, know why...
