They'll just take you hostage and shoot you after they get to where they want to go.

Carry a gun with you in your car if allowed in your state.. I know someone that they tried it on and when he pulled his gun and pointed at them, he told me the jackers pooped in their pants... and ran like hell...LOL..I would have loved to been there...LOL

(Livernois near Warren for those who know Detroit).
Jeeze, that area was creepy 20 years ago, can just imagine what it is like now.

Bad.

I live here and go to varous areas of Detroit. I lived near LA and got lost in Watts a few times. The Livernois/Warren area is as bad or worse than anyplace I have ever been. Most of the buildings ahave broken windows and are burned out. Lots of people just standing around on the sidewalks and most of them look scary.

The funny thing is that when you cross the line from Detroit to Dearborn, things improve markedly. It is still blighted and somewhat scary, but nowhere near as bad. It is like the blight recognizes the city line and is reluctant to cross it.

I saw on "America's dumbest criminals," some thug tried to hijack a woman's car but couldn't drive a stick, tried to force her to drive and finally gave up.

It really cuts down on the number of people who ask to borrow your car.

If it's not in your pocket (kinda uncomfortable), they get your car AND your gun.

On a related note, how many car thieves now days would have any idea what to do with a 4X4 vehicle with a manual transfer case? I think if a guy were to shift it into neutral a thief will probably get the vehicle started, but never be able to get it into gear. He would probably assume a busted U joint and abandon the idea...

Oh, and does anyone remember manual chokes? Close off the choke and I'll bet the vehicle stays where you parked it.
