It worked fine before you did the clutch? It's possible that they disturbed something while working on the clutch. At the same time usually only parts that are near failing on their own fail when "disturbed".
Sometimes a coincidence is just a coincidence. On old cars, you have to make a "payment" a couple of months a year, usually. Of course on a new one you have to make a payment every month...
