I, and the rst of the extended family, managed to get over 500,000 miles from a 1979 Chevy C-10 longbed 1/2 ton truck. 400,000 of those miles were with an Olds 350 gasoline V-8. If I ever move to the southwest I will find another just for grins.
It came from the factory wit the 5.7 diesel, didn't it? Years ago, I made a LOT of money popping the 350 Olds engine in those diesel pickups, and the 307 or 260 engines in the cars. Because of the added sound insulation for the diesels, those were some fantastic vehicles after they were converted to gas.
In answer to the OP question... I had my previous truck for 14 years, and put over a quarter-million miles on it before it got wrecked a couple years ago.
My current truck has about 140k on it. I plan to drive it indefinitely. It has no rust, and I will fix anything mechanical that it needs.
I don't put a lot of miles on trucks anymore, so there's no way I'm going to invest a lot of money in one.
I have a 2013 F250 with the 6.7L turbo diesel. I have 9k miles on it now and have seen this model year '11-'13 be solid up to 150k miles. Due to the year of the truck not many people have tested the longevity past that. Some people report issues but that's often due to lack of maintenance or 24/7 excessive towing. I have a 100k/mile warranty for all mechanical parts, so I'm definitely keeping it through that.
I just had the CEL pop up for an exhaust sensor. They gave me a 2013 loaded ford edge to drive in the mean time. Minute I sat down I missed my truck :/
I have a 2002 GMC 1500 4.3L/V6 with just over 100K on it.
I know someone with the same model, older, with 250K.
What's your truck and how many miles do you think you'll get on the clock?
I'ev got almost 200K on my '02 Ram 1500 with a 4.7, and have never had any major issues, then again, I'm a mechanic and take meticulous care of my vehicles. I've been running Mobil 1 syn since day one, and I recently replaced the oil pan gasket, inside of the engine is so clean you could eat off it.
Provided the tranny holds together, I fully expect to get another 100K out of it.

I maintain a fleet of Ford trucks consisting of 6.0, 6.4 and 6.7 powerstrokes. The 6.0 and 6.4 are International engines, the 6.7 is actually made by Ford. Wierd engine, heads are backwards, exhaust ports on inside, intake on outside of heads.
They are still under warranty so we haven't seen much of them, save for PM's. But he 6.0 and 6.4 are RAGING garbage. I wouldn't take one for free. 7.3 was the best engine they ever had.
Lets see now, I am 75 and my truck is a 2011 I bought new. I now have 5000 miles on it. That's about 2500 miles per year. If I live 10 more years, I'll be 85 and the truck will have 30000 miles on it. Its a Toyota Tacoma and I know it will do 30000 miles.

I have a 2011 GMC Sierra 4.3 regular cab short bed. Hope to get around 200,000 miles or 15 years out of it whatever comes first. Right now it has 10K bought it new in April of 2011.
