Again, the braking system is totally different. Fluid is pumped up to pressure mechanically off of the engine in several models..

And... that means the braking system in an RR is not independent to rest of the vehicle's systems. Conventional systems are. Perhaps that warranty act does not apply.

Why wouldn't the Warranty Act apply? A manufacturer plain cannot void "all warranties." There has to be a connection between owner abuse/neglect and the warranty claim denial. So once again, RR or any other manufacturer won't get to deny a warranty claim if the steering wheel falls of because some retard put in the wrong brake fluid.

^^^^ unless the steering system and the brake system are somehow linked in a RR (and from my EXTENSIVE amount of time under the hood of a Rolls, i can tell you i have no idea, lol).

but yeah. aftermarket can only void the warranty on whatever that part affects. i toy with my vehicles (stereo, exhaust, etc), and whenever i hear a dealership try to tell me what i've done to my car has or will void the warranty, i make a mental note NOT to deal with them ever again. there are dealerships that know the law and don't jerk you around on stuff like this, and those are the ones that get my business.

All I know is what I heard on the news about the RR brakes. I profess to know nothing about them other than what I saw on the news. Good point about the differances in the systems though Lux. Thanks for adding info I didn't know.

How about this:

If you are willing to pay the standard price when you buy parts you are likely buying a part by a manufacturer who makes the OEM part. For example, Bosch and Standard Motor Products (SMP) make a lot of the electrical parts for Ford. The exact same products are sold at auto parts stores without the OEM part number.

When I say "standard price" I mean not buying the "economy" line sold by most stores because so many people prefer to buy junk products from China because they cost less. If you avoid the parts from China you will probably get the equivalent of the OEM part for most auto parts.
