Care to dive deeper into your first sentence?

Since I've got three vehicle lifts now, I haven't used 4 jackstands in a long time, but when I only had one lift and it got really busy in the shop, I used 4 stands frequently.

I welcome you to change a transmission on a BMW with two jackstands and see how well that works out for you.

When I needed the clearance underneath, I just put the front end on two jack stands rated for more than the total truck weight.

If I had been really worried, I would have put two old tires mounted on rims, stacked together, as a backup margin.

Since having 4WD vehicles, I don’t need to jack anything up.
