"no time can you relax while piloting the T-Rex. Unlike standard sports cars, which envelop their drivers in a cocoon of safety features and equipment, the T-Rex is as raw as they come. There is no power steering, no power brakes, no traction control, no airbags, no audio, and no air-conditioning. But steering is precise."
sounds like and old school tail happy pure sports car from days of yore
They dont think they will get to put something like that on our public streets do they? That thing is a wanta bee race car and should only be driven on a private track. If put on our streets because of its overall design people would start getting killed by the hundreds.
The power to wieght is good for a production car, but there are modified cars on the road with much better performance. My 68 Vette is about 600 pounds heavier and puts out over 500hp and tq. I consider my car on the mild side compared to others out there. There are guys just in the corvette community alone putting out 1000 hp street legal cars. You can also build a more powerful car for much less than 51,000. If you are not going to have 4 wheels you might as well go for two and have a real screamer.
There are always ways for manufacturers to get around insurance companies. Chevy did it with the famed L-88 engine in the late 60's. They claimed it made only 430hp @ 5800 rpm. This was true and not a lie, but what they failed to tell the insurance companies is that it put out close to 600hp at higher rpms.
Hmmmm, wonder if that vehicle can get away with riding in the carpool lane? It says its a motorcycle class. I don't really like the front much but there is something about this thing I really like. I can't explain what...
Edit: That cost WAY too much! I was looking into buying it if it was somewhat decently priced. Can't imagine throwing down 50k for this!
Reminds me of the Aerial Atom. Though I think the Atom is actually faster with a better power to weight.
