Most likely at least one of the major players in this search knows more than they're saying. All the red herrings they're throwing out regarding the search have the feel of a cover up. We (the public) will never know the complete truth.
What is that supposed to mean? And, what governments say they have stopped looking for it?
Yesterday (Friday May 30 2014) it was announced on one of the news channels that all physical assets have been removed from the search for MA 370 except for one Chinese ship.

They are going out for bids for someone to undertake a massive search with towed side looking sonar mapping. There are only a few outfits in the world capable of doing the task. Probably take a few months to get the contract in place then some time to get the logistics worked out. So by fall we should see the search back active. Then we wait...and wait...and wait..
Like you I seriously doubt that this was a mechanical error but I guess nothing can be totally ruled out until the plane is located.
My top theory is hijacking gone wrong and somehow the plane crashed... there's no way they could have successfully landed it anywhere without being seen on radar. IMO the ascent to 45,000 feet followed by a rapid descent was to incapacitate/kill the passengers & crew (the cabin oxygen masks only work for a very short period of time) to prevent them from fighting back.
This is what I think, too.
Whatever happened to Bangladesh's search of the Bay of Bengal?

Good question. If they didn't find the plane (and obviously they didn't), what DID they find? There was something there, according to the images that were posted.
In this day and age, a disappearance of a major airline, seems impossible. I keep thinking the plane is on land somewhere. No messages from anyone puts a damper on that one.
The heartaches for the family and friends is unthinkable. Will we ever know what happened? Someone knows where that plane is. Hope my loved ones never have to fly over the ocean at night. Was everyone asleep on the job? What a catastrophe!

Just do a quick Google search. They didn't find crap. The company is just another pseudoscience quack depot with a "technology" no better than dowsing.

Seriously? You think I haven't done a "quick Google search?" There is nothing about what they found in that search, no details about it at all. So, I guess you're assuming they "didn't find crap" because they didn't find the plane. They might have found something that would explain what was shown on the images they released.

Why isn't there an official statement from the Bangladesh navy about the search they conducted, one way or the other?

Does Bangladesh have a Navy?
