Hi Guys,
I see from the map that I can use the light rail to get to Camden yards stn from BWI airport and walk to the harbor from there on W Lee st.

Would you consider that to be safe ? (I am from out of town, just have a few hours to spare and wanted to check out the harbor)

And I will be doing the reverse on the way back to BWI. This will be after dark returning approx @ 7:30 pm.

Do you have any other suggestions ?

I've only taken the light rail once, but wouldn't the Convention Center stop be closer and then you could just walk down Pratt St.?

Camden Yards is very close and easily walkable to the Inner Harbor, and that area is one of the safer places in Baltimore City. Very brightly lit and lots of people around. There have been a few isolated but highly publicized violent incidents in the Inner Harbor area, and as a result there has been an increase in visible police presence. I think you will be fine, even after dark.

At 7:30 you'll be fine. Should be plenty of people around. It's actually conway Street you'll be walking on if you get off at Camden Yards, or Pratt Street if you use Convention Center stop.

Just make sure you have plenty of time. The trains don't always run on schedule.

Oh, and when you return, be sure to get on a southbound train whose sign says BWI-THURGOOD MARSHALL and not CROMWELL.

It doesn't really matter too much. I guess there's more too look at on Pratt St. It's a little easier to cross Howard Street on Pratt than Conway, I guess.

Enjoy your visit and come back again soon! Again, please don't miss your plane!

I take that walk all the time, with a computer on my back, and a briefcase in my hand. No one has ever bothered me, not even on the train.

I've done both the Convention Center stops and the Camden stops. Both were fine.
