Dude you're on city-data.com. There's no excuse for not knowing that Baltimore City is 63% black. They are black Americans, not African Americans. Or better yet, they are just Americans.

However, I did notice something odd tonight at the O's game. The crowd was around 29K and I'd be safe to estimate that only 2-3% of the crowd was black. Buuuutttt, every time they flashed to people in the crowd more than half the people were black. It's as if they found every black person in the crowd and put them on camera. The only reasoning I can think of is that A) The camera man was black or B) The camera man was directed to do this in an effort to draw more of the 63% black population of Baltimore to the stadium.

Has anyone else been to an O's game and noticed this?

Default Interesting..

I know it's 63% African American. Just making a general statement about the large population of Black people in the city.

What is wrong with your thinking Black Baltimore? Study your history in relationship to Baltimore, slave, free and in between. Stop being ignorant. Stop acting like crabs in a plastic bag. Stop the mis-education you give to your children. The "so-called" Black professional class has a responsibility to build life sustaining institutions that will ensure that Black children matriculate within society as decent human beings. You think that you're big time PhD., big vacations, fancy clothes, fancy cars and jewelry, 97inch' flat screens are life sustaining and inter-generational institutions that will provide what???! Stop thinking like slaves!
So I guess this is your way of showing tough love to the black community in Baltimore.

While doing research on black-owned businesses in various cities I came across this: Baltimore city QuickFacts from the US Census Bureau

The census data shows that, as of 2007, blacks owned 34% of businesses in Baltimore city. In Maryland overall the number is 20%. This is higher than the percentage of black-owned businesses in New York, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Chicago, and D.C. I find it hard to believe that in six years that number has fallen to just 2%.

Props to Baltimore.

There are plenty of black businesses in Baltimore. But also truth be told, if you go into a corner store in most parts of Baltimore, it's likely to be Korean owned, not black owned. The one store I do remember that was black owned and a great guy to boot was Melvin's on West Baltimore Street not that far from Bon Secur hospital.

I find this hard to believe. 22% of businesses in Philly are owned by blacks and 28% in D.C. compared to 34% in Baltimore.
