Whatever became of the proposed redevelopment of the former A.D. Anderson property at Howard and 25th Streets? I believe WalMart dropped out; is there anything else going on there?

The development died and the land and buildings were sold to Seawall Development, the developers of Remington Row and R. House. One the buildings is still being rented by Anderson and the big parking lot where the WalMart was going to go is being rented for school bus storage. I have been told not to expect anything significant to happen on the site until the next decade.

I am surprised that Walmart hasn't found another location in the City.. unless they have totally written it off. They had a pretty aggressive expansion plan with the much small "neighborhood" Walmart proposed in many urban areas.. The fact that the one in Port Covington was closed (Kevin Planks) and there are zero Walmarts but two Targets in the City is somewhat surprising.. I guess the Dollar Generals, Family Dollars, and Dollar Trees that are one every corner has taken the wind out of Walmarts wings....

Truth be told even some of the most sketchy shopping centers in Baltimore are fully leased. The ones that have the largest vacancy.. were created by the loss of K Marts who likely still have the leases on the property and thus wouldn't allow a Wal Mart to go into them unless they have no stores left in the metro area....
