The truth be told Black Charities, Carefirst BlueCross Blue Shield, Kaiser Permanente are the real crooks here! The mayor was just a pawn used these corrupt organizations to siphon money out of the city to rich democrats. This means less money for schools, playgrounds and the kids in the city. This is exactly what Baltimore is all about, stealing from the kids.

Her lawyer actually stated that she had pneumonia which has now progressed to bronchitis. My wife tells me that those illnesses usually progress the other way around. When she first took to staying home “sick”, I immediately suspected it was just a ploy to stay out of sight. But, since then, I have learned that Baltimore has no way to remove a mayor from office, and she can stay on sick leave until she decides to leave office. Maybe if she is convicted of something and goes to jail they can do something? I wish Governor Hogan could order her arrest, and placement in a hospital wing of Jessup or whatever way they have to house prisoners in need of medical care, so they can at least determine if she is truly sick, physically, that is. I think we know she has a mental illness.

her lawyer says she's too delirious to resign

Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh is sick and not “lucid” enough to decide whether to resign over a federal investigation into shady sales of a children’s book she authored, her lawyer said Thursday.

LOL.. likely waiting on the indictment.. then will resign as part of some plea in exchange of leniency of some sort.. She may also flip on other local and state politicos.. since I am sure she isn't the one who invited "self dealing" in MD and likely had to be coached by someone. Meanwhile the city suffers... I hope Jack Young on down are clean because I am sure more politicos are going to tumble.. Some first term City Councilperson may become Mayor by attrition if the dominos continue to fall across City Hall.

An indictment for what? Influence peddling? In order to prove that the prosecution will have to prove a direct connection/offer: "If you buy my books your company will get the contract".

And that's not how these things work. You have an aide mention very casually in conversation that there's a book on healthy living out there that's for sale. No threats, no promises. Just an observation.

Now, the underlying message is clear.

It's the same with lobbyists like Gerard Evans and Bruce Bereano when they buy tickets to a candidate's fund raiser. Nothing at all has to be said and if there is it's going to be real nonspecific, like on the order of " I'll appreciate any help you can give me".

The FBI is probably looking for evidence of kickbacks, which is something entirely different.
