This is mostly a PSA as someone I know was harassed by this person. She was living below a couple with an Autistic 3 year old child and she accused them of purposely making noise above her and discriminating against her. The family upstairs provided their contact information so that she could let them know whenever there was a lot of noise. Instead she used that as an opportunity to make threats and harass the family. She went as far as to write a slur outside her own door and call the police to report it as being them that wrote this. She has a history of mental illness and taking it out on others. With a little research it was found that she slashed people on a subway in New York a few years back, she also lived in the city at another building and harassed elderly people that were living there. There was a peace order granted against her and she has been made to move to another place. I just wanted this information out there in case she starts doing it to someone else. I feel like we should all look out for each other. She also seems to play the victim in most of these instances for sympathy and donations on multiple go fund me accounts.

Why would the post be flagged? This is literally a dangerous person living within our community that others should be aware of. She was living within close proximity of a family with a young child and the landlord was not aware. She would come out of her door and shout obscenities at them and block them from leaving. Then she would make up stories and call the police. She has no business whatsoever living near children as she has hurt people in the past. I just didn't want it to happen to anyone else if it could be prevented. She was also made to move out of a condo co-op prior to her last residence because she was threatening the people living there. Where else would one post to let others know? Or do you feel people shouldn't be aware of people that are causing harm to others?

I've never seen this forum be used as a "warning system" against actual people in the real world, so I flagged the post.

It hasn't been taken down, so maybe there is no problem with it. Obviously, it is up to the mods to decide what to do with it.

Understood, I just didn't see much difference between that and media stories about Mosby, or the guy who decided to plot against the Squeegie Boys.

The only difference is its not coming from a media source, granted, there are plenty of things available about this particular woman out there. The family in this situation probably has enough to go to the media but they do not really want to.

I appreciate you answering. I honestly didn't understand what was so inflammatory about alerting others to a potentially dangerous person.

So you provided a link from the dailymail in the UK, a story that happened in NYC, about someone you know that this happened to them. Not you--someone else.

Heresay...

The woman is obviously mentally ill. Sadly--when it comes to mental illness we, as a society, have very little empathy.

Interesting this is your first post at C-D. Which makes me wonder...

If we did nothing but post warnings about people to stay away from who live n Maryland we'd never get done.

My money is on your message was never read.

I thought this board was getting better in that area but I guess not. Or maybe that was only temporary...

Having provided legal representation to both homeless and institutionalized mentally ill clients, my first thought was that she was severely mentally ill. After digging a little deeper, I don't believe so. Would I trust her near my grandchild? Oh, Hell to the No. The mere fact that a broad Peace Order was issued against her for actions taken against her neighbor's family is reason enough to be wary.
