Fells Point Surf and Snow or Skate Surf and Snow...something like that. I just bought some sweet shades there on Sunday

Default Village of Cross Keys?

This seems like a nice little shopping enclave, but I can't get a feel for how popular it is... It has few boutique stores and a couple restaurants...going in through the checkpoint gate makes it feel very exclusive, which may be part of the design. The residential section is nice.. Is there actually a hotel in there or is that midrise a condo?

Yep, there is a hotel there. It is pretty popular especially with older folks who don't want a lot of yard work, etc. If I stayed in Baltimore for retirement years, I would actually consider moving there.

Mt. Washington Village is nice -- a few little shops and restaurants...the Mt. Washington Tavern is a nice place for lunch, or you could go to the Whole Foods, buy a picnic, and walk along the creek.

Speaking of markets, I visited Cross St. this evening. I expected there to be the normal pre-bar, happy-hour crowd enjoying the seafood and enormous cups of beer. However, the place was nearly empty. I've never seen it like that--I'm puzzled.

All the markets are in trouble. People are spending less. For example, Locust Point's Hull Street Blues has a $5 hamburger night on Mondays, I think, and the place is empty.
As to Nick's, it has never been the same since they opened a fancy restaurant plus a bar next to the marina at the Hanover Street Bridge. They replaced a pirate dive called Dead Eyes' . . .
