Default Veazie

I am actually moving to Maine in a few weeks. My husband is already there working. There seemed to be quite a few houses to rent. We have a house rented in Veazie. It took us a day to find it and we are able to bring our dogs.

My husband is originally from Old Town so he knows the area but Veazie sounds nice from reading these threads and it seems close enough to Bangor to be convenient.

I have also heard not to speed in Veazie and I am not even living there yet from other people not on this thread. Then I also heard it on this thread

So I am looking for information regarding cub scouts and girl scouts for my twins age 9. and/or programs at the YMCA in Bangor.

Also, any information regarding the elementary school in Veazie. I went to the website but there wasn't a lot of information.

Eventually, maybe child care. (my turn to find a job) The Veazie school website said that it had after school program but there was no other information. There didn't seem to be much for after school programs in town of Veazie. ?????

Thanks for the help and any other information that you think may be helpful would be appreciated.

I think you will like the Bangor area. It is worth applying at the Bangor Daily News - you must might hit it when they are looking for someone. My husband retired from there after working for them for 30 years. As for rental housing most any realestate agency will carry listings for those. There was a cute ranch house in my neighborhood for rent over on Norway Rd. but I see it has been rented now. We live about one mile from the Bangor Daily News and the new Hollywood slots that is being built down on Main Street.

Did you use a realtor or just the classifieds? We have two dogs also and I need a place allowing dogs...they're my babies!

Your husband worked for The Bangor Daily News? I am assuming he enjoyed it since he spent 30 yrs there! They seem like a great emplyer and I think it would be such an honor to work for a paper that hasn't sold out to corporate America. I am going to try. I have a great portfolio so maybe I will get lucky! I am just so excited about the move! I wish December were here already!
