Thanks everyone, all are very interesting factors that require some serious consideration.

Default The Terraces

Hey Everyone, what about the Terraces on Hancock and Essex? What's the area like and are the units decent?

I'll retract this suggestion, and say to go with the other ones you've gotten.

You can choose from first or second floor. They are very good about taking care of anything that needs fixing. Heat is included in the rent. Husson students mostly live within commuting distance or in dorms on the campus, so Bradford Commons is not used as student housing.

Welcome to Bangor! We have lived here for decades and are transplants from MA. I think you will enjoy the community as there are many activities you can choose from. One of my favorite is attending the plays that are produced by the Penobscot Theater Company.
I second Bradford Commons. I lived there with my best friend for the first 3 years after we graduated college. We then rented an apartment in a complex almost across the street from Bradford Commons which were even nicer, but more expensive.

I am not sure where the ones are on Essex street. The ones on Hancock are fairly new and are pretty nice. The area used to be a bad section of Bangor years ago until a lot of the old unused building where leveled and new ones have since been added. Seems like a pretty good area now. Close to downtown and the hospital.

Default Northern Maine

May I recommend Limestone in Northern Maine. It is a nice little town (under 1,800) and most everything you need is within walking distance if you live downtown. A playground for the grandchildren to play in, a pond to watch the ducks and geese in the fall, two beauty salons, a grocery store and post office and library and four churches. Aroostook County offers some of the best snowmobile trails in the country (Michigan is number one). I own a four bedroom house and my taxes just a little over $1,000. We moved up here almost 15 years ago. I left a week after the ice storm of 1998 and we returned during the Summer of 1999.
