That was a manipulated birth certificate. There was an investigation by an Ohio news channel that proved he was in his early 40s while attending high school, in fact they speculated that he might have been classmates with some of his children.
I've also heard he's 53 years old but haven't seen solid leads on that yet.
Yeah, the first problem with Oden was he wasnt dominant enough in college...like many others, he would have benefitted from another year or two in school. He could worked on have something that looks like a post game.
Even without being hurt, he was just going to be a good role player if he never got some offensive moves in the post. You dont spend the #1 overall draft pick on a guy who is only going to average double rebounds, less than ten points and a few blocks a game...

And Tupac and Biggie are still chilling on that island with Bob Marley producing music

Greg Oden in college averaged around 16 pts a game (far from "less than ten points"). Not to mention there are not alot of big men his size. He averaged a double double with 4 blocks. You definitely go after that as it is a commodity.
As for the pros... when he wasn't in foul trouble, he had some good games like Jan 19, 2009 - 24 pts, 15 boards, 2 steals, 2 blocks. He just needs constant floor time to get over his foul issues.
Unfortunately because of his makeup or conditioning, he is very injury prone. I personally don't see it getting much better. A few more years of letting himself and his teams down and he will probably be out of the league. It's a shame because he is a decent guy.

You misunderstood me...when I said he was averaging less than 10 points, I didnt mean his colllege game. You dont face the athletes in college that you will in the pros--he should have averaged that in college. But, actually, shouldnt he have averaged more?
No, I mean in the pros...and he is averaging 9.4 for his career. Granted, that is barely less than 10 a game, but again, I ask, is that what you expect for the #1 overall pick in the draft--shouldnt that be for a guy you think will draw double teams and get you 20 and ten every night?

I did misunderstand your comment. People draft base on numbers in college and potential. In college, he was surrounded by great players like Mike Conley so his numbers accounted just right, especially since he only played one year.
In the pros, he is only averaging 22 minutes a game due to foul trouble and he has been injured the rest. Considering what he has been through these are really good numbers. Last years average is 11.1pts, 8.9boards, 2.3 blocks in only 23 minutes. That is really really good.
I always thought Oden was a massive waste of money, and it sickens me that Pyrzbilla was traded off while we still have this useless pud sitting on the bench. I'm certainly grateful for Camby, but Joel was a great backup.
