If Dirk plays anything like he has this year in the playoffs, I have to think the Mavs will win. If Caron Butler makes it back, that's a bonus.
I love the way Tyson Chandler is playing defensively and the energy Dallas can bring off the bench is something Miami IN NO WAY had to deal with with Chicago, which has 2-3 guys that play defense, but can't shoot or create.
I actually think J.J. Barea is going to be a huge factor in this series. Bibby can't guard him, Chalmers can be wildly ineffective offensively. I just think the Mavs provide some serious mis-match problems that the Heat didn't have to do deal with when they faced Chicago.

Mavs in 6.
I agree, Barea will be key to making a comeback/widening a lead. If Butler is able to make it back they should save him for later games unless they really have to.
I think it'll be tough to work Butler back into rhythm without disrupting what the Mavs have going - that's always been tricky for coach to massage in a player who's been out while the team takes it to higher levels.
I think it's a good point to say the Heat will be facing a different style than they saw earlier in the playoffs. The DMN had an article basically saying the same thing about the Mavs trip to the 06 Finals - the grit they showed against the Spurs in that epic 7 game series in the second round was washed away by a fast-paced Suns team in the conference finals - then the "heat" was turned back up against Miami and they just couldn't fully adjust, among other things that were surrounding Avery's team at the time.
It's not like the media or most people picked the Mavs to win ANY series this postseason.... why start now?
j/k.
As a DFW native and someone who HATES bandwagoners, I say Mavs in 6.
There are a lot of bandwagoners, but if you grew up in Miami you loved the Heat and most of us Heat fans that are from Miami have been there since the Rory Sparrow days...a real Heat fan would know what this guy did that was so special for our franchise and it put his name in Heat history books...Every team has bandwagoners when times are good....
I agree with Noah, screw the Heat. I never thought that I'd do this but I'm going with Dallas. I hate Hollywood teams like Miami. I think that Dallas' bench will offset Wade and Dirk will be too much for Bosh. Lebron will be a huge problem but he doesn't have the tenacity to get things done. Kidd is too mentally tough to let anyone on Miami check bother him while he's QBing Dallas. I wish the Finals could start on Sunday. Dallas in 6.
Dallas starting 5
1-Kidd (is still a stat sheet stuffer and will control the pace of the game, still Ason though)
2-Stevenson (just there to scrap)
3-Marion (still can rebound well and play okay defense)
4-Dirk (a 7 foot 3. Mid range, outside, and intentional off-balance J's in the post)
5-Chandler (rebounds, garbage points, and good D)
Miami Starting 5
1-Bibby (useless at this point)
2-Wade (he's going to get his)
3-James (he's going to get his
4-Bosh (he should be focusing on defense in this series)
5-Joel "Who the f%#k am I" Anthony (seriously, he should be playing ball in Wellington, New Zealand somewhere)
We all know that Miami has a landfill of a bench. Matter of fact, they only played 3 non-factors coming of the bench when they closed out Chicago. Anyway here's the Mav's bench (main components):
-Stojakovic (get at least 10)
-Terry (15-20 off the bench)
-Haywood (garbage points and rebounding)
-Barea (15 off the bench)
Don't forget, Dallas has a better coach too.
