It's hard to get too upset from the taunts of "fans" that show up in the basketball forum only when it's the playoffs or after things go their way.
These are the same type of "fans" pounding on the doors to get back into game 6 because they left early.
I think the series may actually have hinged on the Heat stars being enough younger that they could play the heavier minutes and having a few more veteran shooters like Miller, Battier and of course Allen to spread some minutes.
Its interesting, in every game seems there is a role player that stepped up. Imagine if Battier didnt hit his 5 or 6 threes? That could have been the difference, he found his stroke, he stole Danny Greens thunder.
Absolutely. If you look through NBA history a couple shots by role players are the difference in many places.
Bad 3pt. shooting from the bench sank Shaq and Kobe in their last WCF together, just as one example.
To Pat Riley's credit (no shock there) he's done a masterful job of putting some excellent roll players to fill out the heats bench and they often just feed the hot hand.

Yeah, and the game Six win was stolen, not quite role players but just a few key players not named James or Wade. Game sevens star role players would be Chalmers and Battier.
Pat Riley continues to add to his resume. As much as I hate the Heat, I grew up a showtime Lakers fan and Riley was my fav.
I wonder if Spurs fans would be more bothered had they lost the series 4-1 or 4-2 or even in an earlier round - especially when the spurs where thisclose to winning it all.
I don't think he is overrated but he isn't the same player as five years ago.
Dude flat out sucks. 1 good game out of 7? Really? Pop is a good coach, but he dropped the ball playing Ginobili at the end of game 6 and game 7. Manu is reckless and I'm not surprised he jumped without knowing what he was going to do with the ball.
FWIW, I despise the Heat, but also despise the Spurs. Win/Win situation.
