1st: Fredette was an awful defender. His clubs tried to hide him, but he still broke their defenses. You have to be a good offensive player to get past this limitation. He wasn't.
2nd: There's not much room in the NBA for a small that can't play PG. Fredette didn't have the passing and ball handling skills to play PG. He is not a good off-ball player (using screens and cutting to get open). Most of his shots were assisted. Recent players in this mold that come to mind are Monta Ellis, Jason Terry, and Patrick Beverly. Monta is an explosive athlete, but not that good of a player. Jason Terry had point guard skills. And Patrick Beverly is a suberb defensive specialist who is paired with an oversized point guard.
I agree with some of your points but not this. He's somewhat remarkably good at getting his own shot off in a deceptive way like Steph Curry, because of his quick release and ability to shoot anywhere.
Its fun to watch him in China anyway....

He's not good at creating his own shot at the NBA level. Neither a charity event nor Chinese pro-level compare.
You haven't watched enough then. I wouldn't say he's as good as Steph getting it off, but he's not far behind. The issue is NBA teams don't want him to occupy the ball that much. Someone like Steph is an anomaly as well.

I've seen plenty. Jimmer can't shoot off the dribble like Curry, he can't dribble like Curry, he doesn't have a quick release like Curry. Curry is an anomaly--he's an elite PG at the NBA level, a 2-time MVP and maybe the greatest offensive force in the league.
Jimmer also can't play point & he can't defend at the NBA level. There's just no room for him in the NBA.
They'll offer a 10 day to a bum to sit on the end of the bench in a "break in case of emergency"-type situation.
LOL at thinking anyone good enough for ANY kind of look is a bum. Reality says that there's likely fewer than ~1000 people in the world that can hoop better. If you last one season in the NBA, you are freakishly talented.
