Right now they are 3 games back from making the play in and 4 games out of the 6th spot. Not that bad really. Ball comes back and they might have chance.

Ball is extremely fragile and out again. Now they're on a losing streak.

All true but they are playing decent ball aside from last night against the Lakers. I reiterate what I said in another thread. Miles Bridges hasn't missed a beat. He has kept them in games while Melo and Mark Williams have been out. If Melo comes back soon they have an outside chance to make the play-in.

They have a chance. The last play in spot is Chicago and they are 14-19. Charlotte is 5 games behind. them.

Melo, Miles, Terry, Gordon, PJ are the supposed starting five. But this season usually two or three are always out.

Ball may come back tonight.

On the verge of returning from his ankle injury, Ball is expected to return on Friday against the Spurs after participating in morning shootaround, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Ball is still listed as questionable to play on the team’s injury report.

Good win by the Hornets. KAT scored 62 and the Wolves still lost. Hornets were missing both of their big men, too. This season may be a loss but this team can hang with anyone. Lest we forget, two years ago they had a winning record and was in the play-in. The injury bug has stymied them. This franchise has remained snake bitten.

Karl-Anthony Towns set a new career-high and a Minnesota Timberwolves franchise record with 62 points Monday night, but it wasn’t enough in a 128-125 loss to the Charlotte Hornets at Target Center. Towns had 44 points in the first half, shooting 14-of-17 from the field and 8-of-9 from the perimeter. He finished with 62 on 21-of-35 shooting, 10-of-15 from the perimeter and 10-of-14 from the free-throw line. He’s the first player in NBA history to make 10 two-point field goals, 10 3-pointers and 10 free throws in the same game. But without the payoff of a victory, there wasn't any celebrating in the postgame locker room after his second career 60-point game. It came on the 18-year anniversary of Kobe Bryant scoring 81 points.

The Timberwolves led by as many as 18 in the third quarter, but got out-scored 36-18 in the fourth to fall to 30-13 on the season, and 17-4 Target Center. Towns had the ball for the last shot with the Wolves down 126-125, but it got knocked away as he went to the basket without a whistle. Timberwolves coach Chris Finch used the words "disgusting" and "immature" multiple times postgame talking about the team's effort in the loss, especially on defense.

Miles Bridges and Brandon Miller combined for 55 points to lead the Hornets, which shot 58 percent from the field and 39 percent from the perimeter. The Timberwolves are still the top team in the West, but only by a half-game with 39 regular season games left. Now, the Timberwolves start a four-game road trip at the Washington Wizards Wednesday night.

Monday night was easily Minnesota's worst loss of what's been a promising start. to the season

I'd like to see what team this agent is trying to sell Heyward to. Who would want him at this point.

According to NBA insider Roderick Boone of The Charlotte Observer, Charlotte Hornets forward Gordon Hayward could be a buyout candidate. The Hornets, who traded Terry Rozier to the Miami Heat for Kyle Lowry, are in rebuild mode, so Hayward is better suited to play for another team. “Two league sources suggested Hayward could be a buyout candidate, a move that’d allow the 33-year-old to sign with a preferred destination,” Boone wrote. Hayward is in the final year of his contract. He’s making $31.5 million this season. The Butler product signed a four-year, $120 million deal with the Hornets in November 2020 as part of a sign-and-trade deal with the Boston Celtics.
