Who knows, but he is a certified first ballot hall of famer without a ring. With a ring it wont move him up in the player rankings of all time.
Still better than robert horry with 5 rings if you mention his name in 40 years. Him giving up so many millions is nice of him, he probably knows he is going to slow down, but many players still wont give up money as they age.

I agree better than Horry. I think its more of a personal thing. Look at all the flack Barkley gets. The ring just puts you in that elite club.
But say its game 7 of the WCF. Your team is down by 2. In their prime who would you rather take that final 3 point shot?
Horry or Harden? Who has made more big shots when it counts in the playoffs? Maybe he has but I don't recall Harden making a really big shot in the playoffs. Maybe this year he will leave his mark.

I would take horry for that big shot. But that score and final shot, harden built it up to that point. With horry, the score would probably be 10 points less and there wont be a final shot to take, game is already over 2 minutes ago.
Rings is a measurement, but it depends what market of a team you play in. Most decent players will just get the most money possible and get the most shots possible to get their numbers. Had harden stayed in okc forever and averaged 16 points forever, having westbrick shoot all the shots, and having kd get the 2nd most shots, harden may not be a hall of famer with those numbers. That trio could have won a ring had they stayed together, but harden will always be behind kd, and must wait for westbrick to get his touches.

It would have been interesting to see how those 3 developed together. Problem was the Warriors who rose at the same exact time. Not sure if those guys have a winners mentality like the Warriors. Sure KD won twice at GS. But they were the best team in the league without him. If you would say that after the year they made the finals, all three would be MVP's, have long careers and bounce to different teams looking for a title and only KD in GS even made it back to the finals so far. It would be hard to believe. Yet here we are.

They really should have traded Westbrook when his stock was high, and young for a hall of famer, and traded harden when his stock was high for a hall of famer who can score and defend. Its a big what if. They got cheap and didn't want to pay harden, and paid ibaka. But still, westbrick needed to go. Im sure some team will trade a 30 year old pierce, kg, gary payton for a 21 yr old westbrook. Experience and win now is huge.
And since you mentioned sir Charles, had he came into the league and stayed in a winning team with a big name tall center and another hall of famer sf or sg, he could have won many rings, but the center will take away his rebound and scoring stats, and the sf takes away his scoring stats, sir charles might not even be a hall of famer, he might just average 18 and 10 during his prime and make 4 all star teams. Being a third wheel really sucks and not many players will accept it unless they win.
