Hi,
I did have a look round the forum and didn't find a thread like this. I've lived in BR for a while and my only regular social activity is running with Happy's Running Club on Tuesdays. I do a few other things of course, but with people I already know and not on a regular routine.
I guess what i'm asking for is suggestions for groups/clubs/organisations to join that do regular evening or weekend activities. I'm open to all suggestions really from sports to volunteer work, I need some new interests. Hopefully others will be able to take suggestions from this too.
I guess I could start this list with what I do:
Happy's Running Club - Every Tuesday, 6pm, 5k run from Happy's Irish Pub on 3rd Street Downtown. $30 year.

I second meetup.com. My wife and I are members of the New Orleans group and can always find something to do every week whether camping, running, biking, hiking, canoeing, etc., or even just hanging out with people at local restaurants.
