I currently live in NE Louisiana but am moving to Baton Rouge in about a week. I currently have AT&T but am thinking of switching to Alltel (before it becomes Verizon).

Does anybody have any details or opinions? All around info is needed since I may travel to many different areas both in and near EBR Parish.

Also, I'm interested in actual data transfer times. I'm a BlackBerry user and will also need an aircard so keep this in mind. I'll be living south of I-10 west of Southdowns area. I'm especially interested in Alltel's coverage area down south since it's awesome where I currently am and I'll travel back and forth alot. (Because of this Sprint/Nextel and T-Mobile are out of the question.)

P.S. I've worked in the cell industry and know the quoted speeds and coverage details. But, as we all know, cell phone companies aren't always completely honest with potential customers.

Default No problem here.

I don't know about speed transfer and all the jazz, but both my husband & I have cingular. I live out off S.Harrells Ferry and have never had a problem. Hubby has a blackberry & air card & both work all over the area and he has never had a problem with dropping calls or any thing else.

I had Cingular for the first two years I lived here and had a terrible time with dropped calls whenever I was at home (I live in the Sherwood Forest area). I switched to Verizon and haven't had any problems anywhere in town. I also use AT&T for work, and have never had a problem with it anywhere in Baton Rouge, either
