If you mean ghost peppers - no comparison! You can eat the Hawaiian chili peppers whole, which I certainly wouldn't advise doing with a ghost pepper. They don't call it Thai Hot for nothing! I also have a ghost pepper plant as well as a number of green and red jalapeno plants...

I am referring to the small, pointy bullet-shaped Thai peppers, NOT the Ghost. There is a guy in Oz or NZ Hippy Seed Company on You Tube with some interesting videos. He goes "bare back", i.e. sans milk. Pretty much everyone else uses milk. Naga Viper is another ultra hot oel

Our Hawaiian Pepper bush has fed thousands of its' peppers to the cardinals. We use 1 pepper per batch of thai curry and it gives the greatest flavor. We are constantly pruning it to keep it from dropping it's leaves and peppers onto our roof (don't need that in the catchment water). Basically we harvest less than .001% of the peppers, the birds get about 10%, and the rest return to the Earth.

A lot of locals like to add a few chilis to their water.
