Coming back from the transfer station in Keaau (going towards 11) I saw a banner about hayrides and pumpkins in the Hilo area somewhere but couldn't find a pen to write down the date, location, and time. Think it is this weekend but my memory is atrocious! Anyone know anything about it? My kids have never been on a hayride so I thought it might be fun.

Well, since I had to go to Hilo today anyway, I detoured through Keaau and snapped a picture of the banner thing, if anyone else is interested! Edit: the sign is right in front of the credit union btw. Just realized an arrow in the pic doesn't help if I don't say where I took the picture

There was also a front page article about this one, in Friday's paper.

Might be worth the long drive.

Cool! Thanks for posting that.

Yeah, it's a long drive, way up to the northwest corner of the island, but there's nothing else like it that I can think of.

It's worth hitting all the pages on their site to catch the photos.

We went to the Harvest Fair in Keaau. Got a wet hay ride which was informative for me. I didn't know that the towing companies we have used temporarily (?) park the cars over in Keaau next to the school property. Mostly we just got rained on and got our butts wet! My youngest got to ride a horse and my older kids and their friends ate some good food, so everyone was happy.`
Thanks for that post mdand3boys. My auntie was just telling me about that place. We may try to get up there and just spend the night or something. Lots of driving all in one day otherwise!
I would like to find some other goings on as Halloween is our favorite holiday, maybe will start a thread
