Mahalo to all for the aloha, can't wait to be back on the island and enjoy the slower pace and also getting away from the triple digit weather here in Texas

I will do a write up later about my moving experience.

Thanks Hawaiian by heart, I really enjoyed the song

Hey there is nothing wrong with paying taxes. Excessive taxation is an issue, but being taxed reasonably is just and fair. Real estate taxes here are surprisingly low compared to mainland states. Also, the USA is one of the least taxed advanced countries on earth. Hawaii is, sadly, one of the deepest indebted states in the US relative to its future obligations, particularly state worker pensions. Not sure how that is going to play out.

Yes, I have made the move and actually Hawaii is not much different from Texas, there are lots of big trucks and folks who think if you are not from here, then you don't belong here, just the haters are brown instead of white

This will be my last write up since this is a small place and I like to keep my privacy.

I will give some advice to all who want to move here, please take heed, listen to the posters who warn everyone and take caution, it can be very difficult here and some locals do not like interlopers. Also, it is very exspensive here and I do not know how people can just move with $10k and no job and make it here. But if you are going to move here, bring a vehicle, trust me you do not want to try to buy a car from CraigsList. I have looked at several cars from CL, and they all were either over priced or just plain junk. Fortunately I do not need a car so I can just wait until I find a decent ride or bring a vehicle from the mainland the next time I go back.

I have also noticed that some of the vendors at the farmers market will take advantage, always make sure they give you the the correct change and never let them just hand you produce that you did not pick out. Some vendors have given me rotten or sub-par produce. They will test you here, stay sharp and remember that all the smiles are not because they are happy to see you, it is just a tactical ploy while they rip you off.

Good luck to all and I hope this thread helps.

Eh? Offsides visitors team, 5 yards. So out of the blue people are like this? You don't give a complete picture. I found this the other day, bus gut laughing.

The first part of this video is captain cook discovering hawaii, partying with the hawaiians. Eating the food, sleeping wit the wahines and taking advantage of the hospitality without contributing back and wearing out his welcome. Only seen on the full episode

The second part has cook returning to hawaii after a storm damages his ship. Lmao.
