We are looking to ship a 35ft travel trailer from Los Angeles CA to Hilo Hawaii and would like to know approximate cost.

Contact Pasha. They are vehicle specialists, and can handle all kinds of oversize stuff, like sailboats, heavy equipment, military vehicles. A travel trailer will be a piece of cake. And it will come in directly to Hilo without being transferred to a barge in Honolulu, as Matson and Horizon have to do.

The three shippers are Matson, Horizon, and Pasha. Their websites are very informative. I'm sure you can find the specific information you need.

What will you do with it once it arrives? There aren't any pump out stations that I know of, but maybe there's one somewhere?

No, don't think so. Not only that, but there really aren't any camp sites that can accommodate a big trailer like that, since the KOA site in Volcano shut down 5 or 6 years ago, and now the Charter School has leased the property for their classrooms.

I figure the OP probably wants to put it up on blocks and live in it. That's what campers like that seem to get used for here.

Well, having a house you can move out of the way of lava is a good idea these days.

I'm also curious about what you'll do with it, but if it will be your living quarters, that makes sense. Pretty clever housing if you have the land (and get a good breeze!)

Clever, but illegal. Even on your own land, I don't think you are allowed to live in it for more than 30 days or something. But, that's up for the OP to work out. Maybe everyone will be too busy watching lava to notice, though.

LOL.
Is the lava getting worse or just continuing? I haven't kept up.

Well, you always visit the open thread on the topic, with daily updates... Scientists tracking new Kilauea lava flow

The big news is that both County and State officials have declared States of Emergency, and authorities are preparing for the possibility of Highway 130 being cut off by the lava flow.
