What's the gas prices like on the BI these days? We're running $1.55 a gallon here in St Pete, Fl. If I had a scooter and $10 I could probably motor over to Louisiana (lot rental at our new senior mobile home park is $294 a month w/ this year's increase, including free water and yard mowing, but we best not go there). When we left Hilo about 12 years ago, I think it was around $3 a gallon, and the P.U.C. on O'ahu had just set the first caps on state wholesale prices of gas. Very strange to see some things actually go down in price. When my wife was in Hilo a couple of years ago, I think she said gas was around $5 a gallon back then.

I think I paid about $2.40 this morning in Hilo on my way to the airport which is slightly higher than Oahu.

Last time I gassed up at Safeway in Hilo I paid $2.33 without any discounts other than paying with debit card. Seems to be the cheapest gas in town (and the lines to match).

Yesterday, we paid $2.25.9 at Costco. A few days before that, we paid $2.31.9 somewhere in Hilo, but I can't find that price on Gas Buddy's website this morning. The lowest price in Hilo that shows as of right now is $2.34.9 at Safeway.
