Thank you both!! I did not know it was sized per number of bedrooms! That quote was just something I read on another thread. That is good to know it's probably a bit high. So if your dwelling was made studio style with technically no bedrooms, or just one bedroom, that would probably get you the lowest cost on septic?

Far as I know, standard residential sized septic tanks come in two sizes. There's the one for up to five bedrooms, I think it is, and then the bigger one for more than five, although I'm not certain how many more. So, basically, with a studio you get the standard 'smaller' sized septic system which is good for up to however many - somewhere around five bedrooms.

No real price difference between a studio sized and a full house sized. Same with the driveway, fencing, electrical up to the main panel, water up to the main distribution point, etc. The costs of putting in a house are gonna be a set amount for most of the infrastructure. Once you get all the infrastructure in place, then there would be economic differences depending on the size and quality of the house being built.

Which is why the 'tiny' house folks don't really save all that much money unless they're setting their trailer house next to an existing house that already has the basic infrastructure in place.
