My friend in Ohio can't id a duck that she saw in her pond, and I have tried to figure it out myself. Perhaps someone here can:

It has a green head, white speckled throat, brown wings, blackish brown body, some whitish grey on its back, and the beak is a grey/yellow.

Thanks.

To me, it can be Peking duck or roast duck. Either way, I am satisfied with it on my dining table.

If you could post a photo, it would be easier to identify it.

sounds like a mixed breed of some kind...head and wing color says mallard, throat color and back could be any number of breeds....

id say its probably a "mutt" duck. but without some kind of picture its impossible to say.

Here's a picture of a master duck, but it doesn't quite fit the description you gave: Big Duck Little Ducks by master-ninjabear on DeviantArt

I can't post a pic right now, but the green head suggests it might be a wood duck.

I went on a bird forum, and it is a domestic duck, so it is a mixed breed after all like foxywench said. thanks.
