There have been many great developments in Birmingham over the last 10 years or so, but this stadium may be the best one so far. It has and will be a huge impact for downtown and beyond really. Smart vision by those that made it happen.

agreed. it definitely doesn't have a WOW factor in terms of design, but it's a solid development that should spur some great things in the area. and should the demand ever be there, it seems like it could easily be expanded / bowled in on the north side (bottom portion of the photo above).

I wonder, if that end was ever bowled in, what that would bring the capacity number to

They mentioned expandable to 55K. Which mean that adding 7,900 seats to the current capacity. They can easy add more than that, though. I mean you still the area above the press box/suites. The area next to the jumbotron. They can add a third level on the east side.

Has the construction cam finally been discontinued or is it just paused for a while?

It would just be a camera at this point. Construction is complete.

it's definitely been paused the past few days, which probably means it's coming down soon (or maybe already has)

I think they are in the process of coverting the playing surface to grass sod for the Legion game on the 20th.

Just another proof for the sad sacks in the "Protective is a waste of money" crowd. Garth Brooks will be performing the first concert at that stadium. Mind you, I wouldn't go see Garth Brooks with a gun to my head, but it's just further evidence that the usage of this facility will far exceed all expectations in the first year. Almost constant use from the first USFL game to the end of high school football season in 2022.
