Should Sellers be home for buyers at showings?

Posted 08-05-2017 at 02:35 PM by MikeJaquish

Whether Buyers should have the property to themselves, or sellers should feel free to stay home is a common conversation here.
So... I did a poll.

Here is the link to the poll:

One of my favorite discussions, and now a Poll on CD: Do you prefer furnished and staged homes?

Posted 03-28-2017 at 08:05 AM by MikeJaquish

People often feel strongly on the point, so I boiled it down to a quick poll.

Furnished and staged, or vacant, or "Who cares?"

For poll purposes, we will assume that the house is clean as a whistle, smells OK, etc.
This is about perception of spaces.

Poll will stay open.

Here are a few thoughts on that.

Poll: When you think of buying a home, how important is the mortgage interest deduction to you?

Posted 12-26-2016 at 04:04 PM by MikeJaquish

We hear a lot of hype about the Mortgage Interest Deduction.
Real Estate agents routinely promote the value of buying a home due to the MID.
It makes me wonder how important that deduction is to for most homeowners.
I know that about a third of owners have no mortgage, ergo, no interest expense.
Anyway, I polled the CD Faithful on the CD Real Estate Forum to get some input on how valuable they think the MID is.

You cannot afford to work with a part time buyers' agent in this market. It goes too fast right now.

2. Do you have time for another client? How many buyers are you currently working with? How many in my price range? If the same property seems like a fit for two of us, how do you handle that?

3. How do you communicate?
