Is there such a thing? I just got a crown glued back on. I was in the chair 13 minutes, including several minutes waiting for the dentist. It cost me $114! All he did was clean the tooth and glue the dang crown on! I need more work done, but need a cheaper option. Anybody know of one?
Well, you have to remember... Dental school isn't cheap. Plus there's the cost of running the clinic, paying the other employees, ect. Unless you're on some kind of government assistance or have dental insurance, any kind of health care is going to be expensive.
Heh heh DesertRyder, they do sell repair kits, but they're temporary, only supposed to last a couple weeks till you can get to the dentist and have it done right. The reason I think it's high is because I posted to a message board, and several people said they had had the same procedure recently for $25 - $50. Maybe they live in a different part of the country where it's cheaper, I don't know.

I just had a crown re-glued by my former dentist in Renton, WA, and he charged me $384!! And I had saved the crown - so it was just a matter of cementing it back plus X-rays. Does that seem exorbitant to anyone out there? Perhaps the bookkeeper thought it was a new crown?
I know the original post is a few years old but thought I'd add in case it's getting new looks that Terry Reilly Health Services (a local non-profit) here in Boise and Nampa has a dental clinic with a sliding scale based on household size and income. It's not just for low-income--they serve a wide range of people. Their new dental clinic in Boise is a great, new, modern facility. I'd ask the dentist you decide to go to, but usually a root canal needs to be done by an oral surgeon, as the procedure requires anesthesia. I was recently able to avoid one by using toothpaste for sensitive teeth. It took 6-9 months before I didn't notice an issue with my tooth. It may not work in your case, but it's worth a try. I forgot the amount I was quoted for the procedure, but I'm sure $800+ isn't far off. Good luck.
