Yes.
No one ever sees a Grizzly here outside of the Yellowstone Park region.
there are lots of reasons for that, but the fact is there are almost no grizzlies left in the lower 48, and there never were very many of them ever.
The re-introduction of the wolves into Yellowstone allowed the grizzlies to prosper only there. It's the only region that protects them and has exactly their best habitat.
Any bear that's spotted out will be a Black bear.
Grizzlies are like bigfoot- everyone knows about them, no one ever sees one in Idaho. The only sighting here will be on your TV.

Except in NID. We've got Griz in NID, especially north of the Clark Fork River and up to the Canadian border. The Cabinet Mountains have warnings posted on all trails. I was under the impression that they wouldn't cross the CF river--but apparently they do! Our neighbor has seen one on our (south) side of the river. But mostly we see Black bears.
If you want to see wildlife get out on trails, preferably very early or late in the day. While backpacking in Idaho I've seen: moose, black bear, deer, pronghorn, elk, wild horse, pine marten, mink, badger, bald eagle, sandhill crane, rattle snake, coyote. Would love to someday see wolf, wolverine, and mountain goat.
