Social Workers in Boise, ID (Hope: employment, move to, licenses)

Hi everyone,

Just wondering if any other social workers frequent this board. I'm from North Carolina and I am trying hard to move to Boise. It seems as though social work jobs are few and far between (and I realize that this is likely due to the economy). Hopefully something will come through soon, though.

Anyway, I was told that the social work community in Boise is pretty tightly knit. I'd love to hear what other social workers specialize in - my background is medical/health, and employment services. Anyone else?

There is a VA hospital there. Have you checked that out?

I have - thanks for the tip. They require an LMSW to work there, and I've passed the exam for it; however the Idaho Bureau of Occ. Licenses only convenes once per month to issue licenses. I have to wait until their November meeting
